Résumé / Abstract :

Our purpose in this paper is to provide an examination of expatriate adjustment determinants based on gender, cultural distance and cross-cultural experience, complemented by career orientations and emotional skills. We present a description of the main concepts and the associated background. Mancovas and Ancovas are computed to test differences in terms of international adjustment with three main determinants on a sample of 269 expatriate managers. The implications of these findings for practice are discussed.
